SUMMARY:Dinara Klinton - piano
DESCRIPTION:Rhaglen: \n\nTaneyev: Preliwd a Ffiwg\nBeethoven: Sonata op. 101\nPercy Grainger: Hwiangerdd Briodas\nMendelssohn / Liszt / Horowitz: Mawrth y Briodas.\n\nYnghyd tusw difyr olaf ar ôl pryd bwyd gan Earl Wild. \nRoedd Dinara yn bianydd syfrdanol o dda erbyn ei fod yn 8 oed ar ôl dechrau astudio yn 4 oed yn Ysgol Arbennig Kharkiv\, yr Wcrain. Yn ddiweddarach\, hyfforddodd ym Moscow ac mae ganddi hoffter mawr o Rachmaninov\, Richter\, Gilels\, Horowitz a Rubinstein. Roedd ei CD cyntaf fel oedolyn yn cynnwys Astudiaethau Trawsrywiol Liszt\, y mae adolygwyr yn ei ganmol yn fawr.\nMae ein trefnydd cyngerdd yn ysgrifennu bod ei 3CDs o’r 9 Sonatas Prokofiev ychydig ddyddiau yn ôl wedi’u cyhoeddi a’i fod wedi gwrando hyd yma ar y 2 gyntaf – yn aros i glywed yr hyn y mae adolygwyr yn ei ddweud ond yn sicr eu bod yn gwneud cyfraniad sylweddol at recordiadau Prokofiev.\nMae Cymrodoriaeth Benjamin Britten yn RCM a nawr Sefydliad Philip Loubser wedi cefnogi ei hastudiaethau. Yn ddiweddar fe’i gwnaed yn Athro Cynorthwyol yn RCM\, un o Conservatoires gorau’r byd. Os ydych chi eisiau sioe a fflamychiad nid yw’r cyngerdd hwn ar eich cyfer chi\, ond os ydych chi’n edmygu dyfnder a difrifoldeb cerddorol yna bydd hyn! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nhttps://dinaraklinton.com/\n                                              Gyda chefnogaeth gan Â

SUMMARY:Dinara Klinton - piano
DESCRIPTION:Programme: \n\n\n\n\n\n\nTaneyev: Prelude and Fugue\, \nBeethoven: Sonata op. 101\, \nPercy Grainger: A Bridal Lullaby\, \nMendelssohn/Liszt/Horowitz: The Wedding March. \nPlus a final post-meal amuse bouche from Earl Wild.\n\n\n\nDinara was a stunningly good pianist by the age of 8 after starting studies at age 4 in Kharkiv Special School\, Ukraine. She later trained in Moscow and she has great affection for Rachmaninov\, Richter\, Gilels\, Horowitz and Rubinstein. Her first CD as an adult featured the Liszt Transcendental Studies\, much lauded by reviewers.\nOur concert organiser writes that a few days ago her 3CDs of the 9 Prokofiev Sonatas were issued and he had listened so far to the first 2 – was waiting to hear what reviewers say but was certain that they make a significant contribution to Prokofiev recordings.\nThe Benjamin Britten Fellowship at RCM and now the Philip Loubser Foundation have supported her studies. Recently she was made Assistant Professor at RCM\, one of the world’s very top Conservatoires. If you want show and flamboyance this concert is not for you\, but if you admire musical depth and seriousness then this wil be!\n\n\n\nhttps://dinaraklinton.com/\n\n\n\n\n\n                                                 Supported by Â

SUMMARY:Mishka Momen\, piano and David Waterman\, cello
DESCRIPTION:Mendelssohn: Cello sonata no 1\nDvorak: Silent Woods\nBrahms: Cello Sonata no 1\nBloch: Prayer from Jewish life.\n\nOur concert organiser writes: Mishka Momen visited us last season and gave us variation music featuring Robert and Clara Schumann among others. A short set of variations by Nico Muhly was revelatory at least for me. Since that concert I have listened to her Variations CD many times. Mishka proposed a duo concert with cellist David Waterman and they will return live at a later date but meanwhile they agreed to give us an online concert. \nDavid Waterman began researching aspects of philosophy at Trinity\, Cambridge\, but in his mid 20s realised that his real passion was cello and music and for that we may be grateful. \nThe Endellion String Quartet was set up in 1979 and has become an internationally recognised group with 3 of the original musicians still playing and David Waterman is one of those. He has performed with a wide range of world-renowned musicians and is a highly sought after teacher of cello and chamber music. He feels very fortunate to play on a wonderful cello by J.B. Guadagnini which he jointly owns and shares with his friend\, Steven Isserlis. \nhttps://www.mishkarushdiemomen.com/ \nhttp://endellionquartet.com/david-waterman/

SUMMARY:Mishka Momen - piano and David Waterman - cello
DESCRIPTION:Mendelssohn: Cello sonata no 1\nDvorak: Silent Woods\nBrahms: Cello Sonata no 1\nBloch: Prayer from Jewish life.\n\nMae ein trefnydd cyngerdd yn ysgrifennu: Ymwelodd Mishka Momen â ni y tymor diwethaf a rhoi cerddoriaeth amrywio i ni yn cynnwys Robert a Clara Schumann ymhlith eraill. Roedd set fer o amrywiadau gan Nico Muhly yn ddadlennol i mi o leiaf. Ers y cyngerdd hwnnw rwyf wedi gwrando ar ei CD Amrywiadau lawer gwaith. Cynigiodd Mishka gyngerdd deuawd gyda’r sielydd David Waterman a byddant yn dychwelyd yn fyw yn nes ymlaen ond yn y cyfamser cytunwyd i roi cyngerdd ar-lein inni. \nDechreuodd David Waterman ymchwilio i agweddau ar athroniaeth yn y Drindod\, Caergrawnt\, ond yng nghanol ei 20au sylweddolodd mai soddgrwth a cherddoriaeth oedd ei angerdd go iawn ac am hynny efallai ein bod yn ddiolchgar. \nSefydlwyd y Pedwarawd Llinynnol Endellion ym 1979 ac mae wedi dod yn grŵp a gydnabyddir yn rhyngwladol gyda 3 o’r cerddorion gwreiddiol yn dal i chwarae a David Waterman yn un o’r rheini. Mae wedi perfformio gydag ystod eang o gerddorion byd-enwog ac mae’n athro cerddoriaeth soddgrwth a siambr y mae galw mawr amdano. Mae’n teimlo’n ffodus iawn i chwarae ar soddgrwth rhyfeddol gan J.B. Guadagnini y mae’n gyd-berchen arno ac yn ei rannu gyda’i ffrind\, Steven Isserlis. \n\nhttps://www.mishkarushdiemomen.com/\nhttp://endellionquartet.com/david-waterman/

She is yet another success story from RCM. Lara has performed extensively across Europe and has a special family connection with Turkey. In 2015 she was voted “Woman of the Year Arts Award’ by Elele-Avon and the Turkish public. \nBack in the 1830s and 40s\, notably in Paris\, there was much competition over the style of pianism with especial reference to Chopin the sensitive salon pianist and Liszt the iconoclastic rock star. Lara sits firmly on the side of Chopin in her musicianship and in addition to this concert you may wish to acquire her Chopin CD https://www.prestomusic.com/classical/products/8845107–lara-melda-plays-chopin.

DESCRIPTION:Programme: \nF Liszt : Les cloches de Genève\nF Liszt : Les jeux d’eaux à la Villa d’Este\nF Chopin : Nocturne Op.27-1\nF Schumann : Faschingsschwank aus Wien Op. 26\nOur concert organiser writes: Aisa came to the Club 7 years ago\, staying with me for a couple of nights before travelling on to Dolgellau Music Club. I found out a great deal about her such as her early interest in serious athletics and ice skating alongside music. Her choice of concentrating on piano was made early and she travelled to Europe to continue her studies at age 14. Since then she has been busy and in particular her work has involved the establishing of summer festivals in Japan and Italy. Most recently she has set up an internet programme featuring interviews with artists and first transmission was on 6 December. Her programme takes us to the heart of the Romantic repertoire. Two pieces come from Liszt’s Années de pèlerinage\, Switzerland and Italy with a further border crossing into Austria for Carnival scenes from Vienna. We are grateful to Steinway for making available their Steinway Hall in London for recording this concert.\nhttp://aisaijiri.com/

So it will be a great pleasure to hear her again\, this time in the company of Isobel\, a singer friend from their time together at Chetham’s.  \nRose will doubtless tire of botanical analogies such as her rapid growth as a pianist and how she is climbing the musical trellis of success. Of course we know she is being well nurtured and trained\, but it is greatly satisfying to her audiences in clubs such as ours to witness her development at first hand.  Isobel has performed Arne’s Morning Cantata on Radio 3 and is now going to study at Kings College\, London\, on a choral scholarship. Their programme is: \n\nJ.S.Bach: Partita no. 6 in E minor- Toccata\, Allemande and Gigue  \n F.Liszt: La leggierezza\nF.Chopin: B minor sonata 1st movement\n\nR.Schumann: Frauenliebe und Leben\n\nOur concert organiser writes: The Schumann should be something special as Rose confesses to being obsessed by this music which is exactly how I felt upon hearing his Kreisleriana for the first time. Frauenliebe und Leben is poetry about a girl meeting her future husband\, through marriage\, to death and after. The piano part is innovative in its contribution to the songs. I suppose the songs reflect much about Schumann’s life in relation to Clara Wieck whose father was opposed to the marriage. Surely this duo is an ideal pairing for this music.  \nhttps://metierrecords.co.uk/artist/rose-mclachlan/ \n \nCLICK HERE TO DONATE
