DESCRIPTION:Congratulations to the final 5 (not forgetting the rest) for great concerto finals. No weak performances on sunday night. \nWe have the BBC overall winner next Wednesday 19th\, Lara Melda\, a special pianist. SUMMARY:A delectable concert
DESCRIPTION:Last night from Lara Melda. There are pianists I have no interest in because they are either merely technical wizards or the way they maul the music is not for me. Lara Melda has the technical ability for sure but it is put in the service of the music. Her Chopin interpretation is well recognised but we had far more than that from Beethoven to Liszt\, Rach. and Brahms. Her area of expertise at present appears to be the Romantic era and it will be interesting to see how things develop in the future. When I book musicians for concerts I want to ensure that we have the highest quality and this often means finding young musicians on their rapid ascent. Lara fulfils that and more. A great concert for a local music club to have put on and one to lay down in memory.

Each musician will take turns on violin and viola. \nKrysia taught both Mary and Clara and has been a senior member of many famous chamber groups such as Dante and Endymion. DESCRIPTION:Welsh Chamber Orchestra – Anthony Hose\, conductor – Jeremy H Williams\, singer\nThis Concert will start at 8pm rather than 7.30 – NOTE CHANGE OF TIME\nOnce again we have managed to acquire a concert with a small orchestra\, something not normally available to music clubs. \nThe WCO gives concerts in smaller venues within Wales and Anthony comes here from Florida\, where he works at Stetson University to give concerts in places like Rhyl and Beaumaris. \nJeremy is an accomplished opera singer with worldwide renown; he is regularly accompanied by Paula Fan in vocal concerts.

DESCRIPTION:Young Musicians evening\nTwo musicians from Chethams\, Alicja and Jan Kojder and one past student\, Michael Korzeniewski\, mean that we have a family concert. \nI first met Alicja and Jan at our Chopin drama event but am now well acquainted with Alicja who has been involved successfully in many online events over lockdown. She and Michael are both pianists. Michael is destined for a music academy now having first considered a science course at Warwick. Jan is a 10 year old cellist. \nBe prepared to be surprised by the standard of this concert but you will have to be present to find out what music will be performed. \n\nSolos\, duets and trios; all are possible!

DESCRIPTION:Programme: \n\n\n\n\n\n\nTaneyev: Prelude and Fugue\, \nBeethoven: Sonata op. 101\, \nPercy Grainger: A Bridal Lullaby\, \nMendelssohn/Liszt/Horowitz: The Wedding March. \nPlus a final post-meal amuse bouche from Earl Wild.\n\n\n\nDinara was a stunningly good pianist by the age of 8 after starting studies at age 4 in Kharkiv Special School\, Ukraine. She later trained in Moscow and she has great affection for Rachmaninov\, Richter\, Gilels\, Horowitz and Rubinstein. Her first CD as an adult featured the Liszt Transcendental Studies\, much lauded by reviewers.\nOur concert organiser writes that a few days ago her 3CDs of the 9 Prokofiev Sonatas were issued and he had listened so far to the first 2 – was waiting to hear what reviewers say but was certain that they make a significant contribution to Prokofiev recordings.\nThe Benjamin Britten Fellowship at RCM and now the Philip Loubser Foundation have supported her studies. Recently she was made Assistant Professor at RCM\, one of the world’s very top Conservatoires.
