Mary and Richard bring a delectable programme and in particular I welcome the solo violin Bach Partita. One Partita often appears as a piano version and we have had both the Brahms and the Busoni transcriptions at the Club but here is the original. The Schubert Fantasie is not so well known but having listened to it recently I can’t understand why it is such an infrequent visitor to music venues.
This duo has been a major part of our Club programmes, deeply involved in the Beethoven 10 violin sonatas project both as performers but also instrumental in setting up the 3 new commissions. Thea and Mollie also appear this season.
