Carys and Tom formed this duo at the Royal Northern College of Music in 2019 and they now have careers as soloists and in ensembles as large as orchestras.

Previous percussionists from RNCM have proved memorable and Tom has a notable accolade ‘International Young Musician of the Future’ at the Llangollen Eistedfodd.

Carys performs a wide range of music, classical, jazz and folk. Her teacher Rob Buckland is a name we recognise from previous saxophonist visitors. One notable award is that she is is a 2025/26 Instrumental Ambassador for the Benedetti Foundation.

For those who adored our Chets Big Band last season you will be delighted to hear that Carys was a member of the Manchester University Big band.
