Presenting a seasonal compromise between a traditional concert and a Christmas celebration gives us two concerts in one!
Nigel Shaw brings with him his choir which has had excellent reviews from the Chester Festival and was invited back to Urbino to perform last summer.
The first half of the evening is devoted to a complete song cycle of Schumann's Dichterliebe which is based on Heine's poems about the poet's love, from ecstasy to despair. After mince piesthere will be a selection of Christmas music from the choir.
